Angela is a Tasmanian writer with a special interest in the people, places, past and present of the island. Her debut novel, Umarrah & George - Friendship and Conflict in Van Diemen’s Land, was released by Forty South Publishing in November 2024. In May 2026 the novel was shortlisted for The Dick and Joan Green Family Award for Tasmanian History.

Set in early Van Diemen’s Land, Umarrah & George is the story of a complicated friendship between Umarrah, an emerging Tasmanian Aboriginal leader, and George, the son of former convicts.
